There are definitely plenty of opinions to go around here in the capital city of Florida even if there is no new train service planned for the area.

When representatives of the City of Tallahassee and Leon County local government met with representatives from several areas in north Florida to propose the expansion of commuter rail service from Jacksonville to New Orleans over the Amtrak rail line it sparked a flurry of online debate ranging from the nostalgic to the political.

Some of the issues discussed were oil prices, hidden government agendas, competing rail and flight prices, bailouts and even nuclear energy.

Tallahassee Regional Airport Claims Growth in Passengers

Tallahassee Regional Airport today reported an increase in passenger guests for January 2012.

More than 47,000 passengers used the air-port in January 2012.

Among the air carriers serving Tallahassee (TLH) are Delta Air Lines, American Eagle, US Airways and United/Continental affiliated Silver Airways.

Beginning March 25, US Airways will offer daily nonstop jet service to Washington Reagan National Airport.

Is Tallahassee Ready for Women’s Tackle Football?

Even if Tallahassee is not ready you can be sure these woman are going to be.

There is a new team in north Florida and they are looking for some new players and a whole lot of new fans.

The Tallahassee Jewels have moved in to the Godby High School football field and will kick off the season on April 14th with a home game against the Acadiana Zydeco.
